I think the real problem is that the minute someone says 'you can't have that' your mind resists and you start to crave it. I never really ate sweets or chocolate before I was diagnosed, and then they said 'you mustn't eat it' and I was in hospital craving something sweet. Someone had bought me a bar of diabetic chocolate and I woke up in the middle of the night craving it. It was a big bar and I ate the whole thing. God, did I regret that - nobody told me it acted like a laxative!!!!!!:***:
