Fed up to the max!!

Yea i went the docs an i got a urine infection. Glad im gettin sorted coz been so stressed xxx

Well, im on novorapid 6, 6 and 8 which has recently been changed from 2, 3 and 5. Levemir 14 which has increased from 10. I was on such little doses as that was all i needed. I have a urine infection so my pancreas may not be givin up just yet!! Im not on carb counting as yet an not on a specific diet, i try n be sensible but chocolate is so delicious i cant cut that out!! Xxx

Well hit me up chuck ,.,.as we all do need a rant...god knows it's that or ripping a persons leg of them an then beating like a piñata lol...

Glad you know what it is now, at least when the infection clears up you'll get it under control, unfortunately high blood sugars go hand in hand with infection as there is more sugar floating around in the blood which feeds bacteria, another reason to try and keep your blood glucose in range, good luck lovely, hope it clears up soon x

It sounds like you've been put on flat rates of insulin, which can be quite restrictive...if you learn to carb count you will be able to adjust your insulin to what you are eating, you won't need to be on a specific diet. There can be a bit of a wait for DAFNE course but your DN should be able to give you the basics.or there is an online course http://www.bdec-e-learning.com/

Hopefully the urine infection is the cause of all your problems...see what happens when that has been fixed.

Thanks everyone. I had no idea bout the whole bacteria/infection thing but makes sense when u think bout it considerin its my immune system that has caused me to get T1 in the first place. Hope it is jus the infection coz really dont want my pancreas to die just yet!! I will ask bout the DAFNE course too an yes, my insulin is flat rate so thats a pain too. Hopefully carb countin soon xx

Yea defo an its time of the month now which has made everything feelten times worse, so emotional its unreal!! I either wanna cry to someone or jus punch them in the face xx

So what's your plans for tonight @cezli84
U going to stay home an chill this weekend ...sound like u need some R&R and some music ....

To be honest the sooner your pancreas resigns the better, when it squirts juice it doesn't help your control

Chillin out tnyt huni, jus watchin legend. I feel like absolute rubbish tnyt. Got a temp, sugars at 14.3. What u upto, whats ur sugars like?? Xx

Good idea take it easy and look after yourself, I've had a big glass of red after finally completing my self assessment lol, catching up on Sherlock. Sugars were 12.7 before supper, God knows where they are now !!

Yea thats wot i was thinkin juicyj, in one way its a good thing but its gonna be like ive literally lost a limb an all my readings will be well high. Its sad an i dont mean to sound like im the only person that this is ever happened to but its so devestating to have gotten this at the age of 30, its been a lot to take on an im wonderin if it would have been better to have got it wen i was 3 rather than now as i would be in a better place with it as i wouldnt no any other way of life if that makes sense but on the other hand, who wants T1 at the age of 3 injecting 4 times a day?? Xx

Yea i defo am takin it easy. Ive not started watchin that sherlock, got too many dramas on record without addin another to remember the plot lol. Ive had a malibu to chill me out xx

I wouldn't get too sad about your pancreas I don't believe it ever dies fully it just become redundant, but it's easier to manage your type 1 the more redundant it is, it also doesn't mean taking loads of insulin as my requirements didn't change massively over time, your insulin will always require tweaking though so just look out for the signs when it does need a tweak. I was 39 when I got it, I felt like if there was any age to get it that this was about right as I was old enough to know how to look after myself, I don't envy youngsters as they have adolescence to get through, I don think it's easy whatever age you are though it's just your mindset and how you deal with it that's key. Stay positive lovely, I know it's hard when you don't feel well but you will be better soon

Yeah i see what u mean. How long have you had it for? My anniversary is apr 24th lol. X

Also, it may not be what i think it is but i keep getting this thing where my whole left arm goes completely numb for a few seconds whatever position i have it in. Does anyone get this or wud it be totally unconnected to T1 xx

You need to check this out with your GP or consultant, doesn't sound as if any connection to type 1 besides you haven't had diabetes long enough to cause problems. I'm not a medic just my humble opinion.

How are you feeling now?
