well things had being going well on the low carb diet i had reduced the amount of insulin i was taking felt full all the time and blood sugars were staying stable ( between 6 and 6.5) then the constipation hit i followed all the advice increased my fat intake and drank more water still no joy. im now on laxatives and have no appitite at all so blood sugars are all over the place and i feel really ill so what to do now the diet was great for me didn't feel hungry in between meals so where do i go from here

Try having an ice cold drink of water in the morning followed straight away by a really hot drink, hot enough so that you can only sip it at first. Then have a few bites of an apple.
 
Did you try a magnesium supplement? According to what I've read, most of us don't get enough magnesium through our diet. And the advice is to increase the number of capsules until you get diarrhoea, then to lower the dosage. So, magnesium might be worth a try. I take it for BP reasons as well.
