After my horrendous hypo last Friday i went to see my incompetent GP on Monday. When i told him what had happened he said "well now you know what it's like don't you" and "what do you want me to do about it." I was mortified.

Since the hypo i've felt really rough and non so much as this morning. I feel like i've got the worst hang over ever and i've had the s..t kicked out of me. My BS just keeps reading high which means it's over 28 and i'm actually in tears as i write this it's just that i needed to share it with someone, i'm just so p....d off. I honestly wonder if it's worth carrying on, if it wasn't for my grand kids i think i'd just give up. :( :(

Sorry to moan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

assuming ur type one on injections? You need to get ur BGs down after a bad hypo and try to control it quickly. Do a correction dose if you use Novorapid or such like. Check ur BGs every hour until they come back down.

I used to have hospitalising hypos and they were really scary. Felt pants for a day or so afterwards too. Mainly sick in my stomach.

Try to eat dry food like wholemeal toast.

awww hun,
im sorry your feeling so bad,
you need to get your bloods down as they wont be helping how u feel, when on just lantus id some bad lows near on every night and it was so scary so i do understand, if u ever need to talk pm me, is there a different gp u can see or diabetic nurse to get u back on track with your bloods??
please keep coming on ere when u feel this bad, so we can all give u support n virtual hugs,
once your bloods are down to normal u may feel better, i myself have had the rollercoaster of being up and down with bloods and it does make u feel awful both physically and mentally
i hope u start to feel a bit better soon, let us know how u are getting on ((((((hugs))))))

Hi Hazey,
Sorry to hear you are going through a bad patch just now. I am not on insulin so not qualified to offer advice there, but if I remember correctly, didn't you mention about good support that you'd received from the diabetes centre at your local hospital. As your doctor doesn't have a clue, why not get yourself off to the hospital and ask their advice?

I really don't know where you get the patience to put up with the appalling treatment and attitude from your doctor. If it was me I would have written a complaint to the General Medical Council months ago requesting that the doctor in question be struck off.
