Hi guys I'm new to this I've had diabetes for 4 years. Me and my other half are trying for a baby and my sugars out of control. I'm on a low carb diet trying my hardest but it feels like I can't do nothing right. I'm so fed up of everything

Hi and welcome to the forum @Charliepink1234.

If you give us some more information including which type of diabetes you have and what you are finding difficult then we will try and help.

I have type two I go to a prenatal clinic and they keep mentioning I'll have to go on insulin when I get pregnant but everything's just to much for me. I feel I can't talk to my other half as he doesn't understand

Hi and welcome. If the hospital are saying you will need to go onto insulin when you get pregnant are you sure you are T2 and not T1? Why would they say that? If you are a T2 with excess weight then a low-carb diet but balanced to ensure you have the range of nutrients should help reduce that and blood sugar. If you are slim and apparently quite young, then T1 comes to mind. Do ask why they mention insulin so you can clarify the reason and your diagnosis. Are you currently on any tablets for diabetes?

Hi @Charliepink1234. Not sure why your prenatal clinic staff would say that. Perhaps you should talk privately to your GP or your GP practice diabetic specialist who should be more knowledgeable about diabetes. Also mention that this is causing you some stress. Stress can be a big issue for some diabetics and your mental as well as your physical health need looking after.

They mention it coz of getting pregnant so if I don't have insulin while pregnant it's unsafe for the baby coz my sugars hard to control
