It's been a long time since I posted here. I have been doing quite well with HbA1c's below 6 for the last three visits (each 3 months apart). As a result, I've been very negligent in testing - maybe only once a week or even less, but each time the numbers were below 7.0, so I thought I was doing pretty good. Today, I decided to make some lemon blueberry muffins - intending to eat only one (ha ha), but of course had two and now If feel terrible. 10.1 about a half hour after eating them, then 9.8 2 hours after that - I didn't test before. Awful headache and can't seem to keep my eyes open. After first being diagnosed about 18 months ago, I improved my diet (though counting carbs I find confusing so I just cut down or if possible cut out those things that I know are high in carbs) and did lose 10 pounds though in the past two months they have miraculously re-appeared. know the importance of testing but need some tips and encouragement to get back on track with that. Also, if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with the dizziness and headache I am now experiencing I would appreciate that.

sorry to hear you're feeling rough :(

you could try drinking a couple of pints of water and a brisk walk to bring your levels down a bit :)

Hi, :?

Time to visit your GP, First of all they will check for high blood pressure, also they shall help you to stop thinking about whats wrong which also helps relieve worry and pain.

There are many simple things that we can do, yet the easiest answer is with your Doctor.

The point I am concerned about is that your symptoms may have nothing to do with your Diabetes. :problem:

For example I thought my headache's were due to diet.
After many months later we found out the headache was caused by a simple florescent light tube.

Hope you feel better soon. :D Roy

I would agree a brisk walk will bring your BG down, if I am at work and have something naughty I go up and down 4 flights of stairs. I read on here yesterday that hot baths help to bring down BG, although I haven't tried that yet.

Its really hard to keep diabetes in the front of your mind all the time, its human nature to lose motivation and go off track, I have done it many times. Only recently I found this forum and its given me a great deal of motivation and support. Don't beat yourself up, try to get yourself back on track, and visit the GP to talk it through. Take care of yourself!
