Just wondering if any of you has ever been feeling cold after eating? I went on low carb diet after being diagnosed and now whenever I eat lunch my feet and hands feel really cold. It usually passes after 20-30 minutes but was wondering if anyone has ever had similar experience? Just to add that my sugar levels are within the range between 4-7 and my hbA1c has now gone down from 117 to 41.6.
The process of digestion redirects blood flow away from the extremities (hands and feet), but that is true of both higher carb foods as well as low carb foods. Obviously hot food tends to make you feel warmer (initially) than does cold food.
What are you eating compared with what you ate before?
It usually is a salad for lunch so lettuce, veg and some protein. What I used to eat before is high carb food. That
Is before I was diagnosed 3 months ago.
