Hi
I can relate to your feelings, i have been messed about for over ten years regarding medication. Because i have other chronic illnesses that reqiure medications they can sometimes cause rises in blood sugars. So my specialist tells me to stop them !!!!! without understanding the effects of stopping them. hes now not interested at all in treating me. He has just told my son-in law to loose weight - to cut his calories, it doesnt matter what he eats so long as he doesnt go over 1000 calories per day - he told him he could eat a full pat of butter if he wants so long as he doesnt go over his calorie intake!!!!!! This is the kind of clap trap that i have received over the last ten years and it is why i have now stopped all meds because each of them are fighting against the others. Also i really get p'd off when people say "you can lead a normal life with diabetes" NO YOU CAN NOT. "normal people" don't have to test their blood or test their urine, attend clinics providided by sanctimonous persons , who think they are sooo superior to everyone. No wonder i get depressed. its practical personal support we need. Even my docot doesn't know what to do, (G.Ps will not overirde a specialist so theirs no point in going your GP - his hands are tied)
Diabetic charieites should be putting some monies into practically helping diabetics - providing counselling, CBT classess or workshops all over the country. But i do not live in England ,Scotland , or Wales so i am invisiable. I feel mis understood.and yes i have had a rant ...
