hi all after some advice please had my usual soak in the bath tonight to help relax my muscles but the problems started when I tried to get out of the bath had no upper body strength to lift myself out of the bath and couldn't move my legs at all this continued for about 30mins with little sense of any feeling in my legs and feet .
when I managed to get out of the bath with help from my wife I started feeling foggy and finding it hard to concentrate I tested my BG and that was 6.5 I last had something to eat at 5pm
I am still finding it hard to walk and have now got feelings back in my left leg but still feeling numb in my right leg as I am writing this the muscles in my left leg are now giving me a lot of pain
any help greatly received
thanks

Hello eldergarth, just a caution,it's best to have your bath water no hotter than tepid,as any hotter will aggravate any neuropathy, plus only stay in for short period , hope you feel better soon, clive

@eldergarth I hope your situation improves.
Have you experienced similiar before?
When did you last have your blood pressure checked?
Many find on lchf that their blood pressure tablet needs changing. Many use oxo to up their sodium which is normally lost when changing to lchf diet.
Please try and see your gp to get blood pressure check when convenient. Any other dizzyness, foggyness press for that test quicker.
Please let us know how you get on.
I agree with @Clivethedrive make sure water isn't too hot.
Since your legs are improving it is likely from your hot bath but if it persists call out of hours doc for reassurance. :)

Yup as I found out with my MG a hot bath will do it to you every time. It should wear of in a while if not or if it happens again without the hot bath as a trigger you should see you doctor about it in fact I would mention it to your doctor any way.

You BP can change in an instant, and definitely minute to minute so your BP this morning was just that, your BP at the time you took it this morning.

I would suggest should this ever happen again, aside from seriously considering a chat with 111, please do check your BP and your sugars.

Pleased to say after last nights little drama ,he slept like a baby and is ok this morning. So far. What a job and a half getting him out the bath. Thanks for all the postings everyone.

@tina_marie and @eldergarth please see gp don't leave it unmonitored. I had weakness before I had my blood pressure tablet changed. I suffered with sciatica when I started lchf. My body shape changed as did my posture, especially when lifting toddler and his then heavy buggy.
I am quite strong again but not as strong as pre lchf. I was as strong as an ox.
I've out it down to losing weight/adding weight from insulin and diet.
I hope @eldergarth is being a superb patient @tina_marie ?

Hi vicki thanks afraid the tables have turned and tina now laid up with her back she been in AE most of day damaged nerves helping me get out of the bath im caring for her now

Oh bless you both!
Sounds like me and my better half.
He's ill but able bodied. I'm semi able bodied off and on but without diabetes brain not as brainy as I'd like to be. lol
His good days are a godsend as my bad days are horrific, at least that's how it feels.
I'm sending hugs to @tina_marie and her nurse @eldergarth . :)
Hope she has pain relief at hand. :)

Thanks vicki she now taking more meds than me lol
I will make sure tina gets plenty of bed rest

hi @ickihun plenty of pain killers thanks ,been asleep all afternoon since coming home from hospital. Wont be lifting him out the bath anytime soon .lol. Gave me a right proper scare when I couldn't feel my leg

@tina_marie I had a trapped nerve in the winter and I truely sympathize. With a nerve tabet and co-codamol it eventually went but I was disabled for months. Sleep was effected very badly without loads of tablets.
I'm pleased to say I'm fully recovered. Phew! I was panicking thinking it was permanent and from high sugars when metformin stopped working.
Please use tablets wisely but I'm wishing you both well. :)

Hi all just to keep you all informed have been researching about what happened with my legs and it seems its looking like femoral neuropathy as have been having more problems with walking and been getting more pain in the groin area so will be bringing this up at my next diabetes reveiw to see about getting it checked out thankyou all for your support and help
Ron
