Diabetes!! People who dont understand. Being overweight and hungry.
I need to put this delicately, but still need to ask the question.
What do you guys do if you feel low during ahem "cuddles"? I tested afterwards and was in the 6s but felt a bit out of it at the time, I dont get a lot of cuddles as it is, but felt like it last time too.

Tiny, I think this could be linked to exercise and hypos, maybe you could find some info in threads for exercise.

I read your post to MH and he's now convinced that it is extra good cuddles....it's obviously the earth moving...thing is, if the earth is going to move for you then you need to be 'there' to notice it and not out of it.

Admin, maybe we need a separate area for delicate problems?

Julia

Oh Jeez sweetheart, I best not be telling Mrtoez as he will grow an ego, but I didnt think of it like that.
I completley agree about the delicate/adult topics area, possibly get it locked until you enterr your DOB.

Good idea. Members need a password or something, so at least our intimate issues can be held away from the entire www.

I was thinking that, and underage viewers. We dont want to hurt little innocent eyes do we.

Nooo that wouldnt be good at all. I was trying to be good about my wording tho. But a "hidden" area would be good.

Hi all.
I will let admin know delicate topics and issues :silent: possible future board set up is a request from forum members.
It is a factor in our lives , I call them ' fireworks ' with my hubby ! :P
Find I cant cope with them as well as used to , [knocks me for six now] have to eat something soon afterwards to raise my blood sugars.
Any intense cardivascualar activity " will " lower the blood sugar levels, so to find yourself going hypo isnt a suprise.
Hope this helps ?
Anna.x :D

Anna, that would be brilliant.

I needed to ask about an ED experience we had - it happened at a time when we needed each other, were arguing over the diabetes issues, and just made the whole diagnosis shock period worse - and I had no idea where to go to ask. Wasn't even sure if any of the guys could help as it's all fairly embarrassing.

could just be very good "cuddles

I want some of those

My husband left me about a year before I was diagnosed (after 21 years of marriage) so I have no idea how "cuddles" affect BG level. Although, just between you and me, I wouldn't mind trying - obviously for medical purposes only

Erm Marina..are ye telling a wee fibbie? Medical purposes? Yeah, right...

Just a quick comment about the sensitive areas..no, not the sensitive areas, I meant the parts of the forum that are..oh bu**er it. What i was trying to say was it is practically impossible to police a public forum like this, d.o.b's can be invented and I'm not sure that a hidden area would work with a password, you could still get any fool coming on here and going to that section as soon as they join.

Might I suggest a certain number of posts first? I know this might be an inconvenience for anyone who likes to "lurk" and read without joining in but if someone has made a reasonable number of posts, then it is more likely they are genuine.

Actually now that I think of it, another forum I use has 2 "hidden" areas only available to those who are members but it is a lot smaller than this forum. Maybe hidden area and a minimum of 5 posts before it can be used? Opinions?

Er, when it comes to sensitive issues I've learnt a lot lately! Can't beat pm to a trusted member, maybe a friend already or approach someone whose posts seem to suggest they have a similar experience. I think you'd be surprised how helpful people are

In forums there is a setting that is available to only registered members only. I think this is a good idea. The problem with say only 5 posts is you could get a "perv" (sorry I hate that word, but it fits what I am saying) who joins then makes five "welcome to the forum" posts and gets in. If the private forum was not visable to lurkers then internet perv's would not join just for that reason, as they wouldn't be able to see we have a private forum. Just a thought.

Sometimes the unexpected friends turn out to be the best friends, and can be really helpful.

I see Anna has raised a query for the admin's re a separate area... but just to add a couple of thoughts..

1. Any exercise can lower blood glucose... I shouldn't think unless you are on insulin (BG lowering medication) this is really a cause for concern... for most of us the exercise is a good thing... But checking blood glucose first is advisable if you are type I or on insulin.. Like any exercise if possible you should monitor BG's afterwards and eat something carby if you need to..

2. Diabetes does damage small blood vessels and therefore can cause ED in men and loss of sensation in both men and women... good control may help people recover this or on the ED side there are certainly pills that can be prescribed.
