hi there and i wonder if anyone can tell me i have a sore throat today and dont feel so great, my bs is 9.2 higher than its been in ages, does blood sugar raise if you are feeling under the weather? as i have been eating all the same stuff that was keeping it in the 6s and 7s.
thank you
sara

Yup, it can go up and down...for example, I had an ear infection and my sugars dropped like a lead balloon...last week I had a strain of the Novovirus bug...and they went through the roof..

Lots of testing and amending the old pens dosage through ill periods..its not the easiest to control.

Hi Haggis - sorry you are feeling a bit rough - the answer is yes any illness, infection, stress etc can raise your bs - it can happen to anyone not just us diabetics. just keep an eye on it it should only last a few days while you are fighting the infection

Something else you may notice around the time of your monthly cycle your bs may raise a little too - mine always runs a bit higher for a few days - and its a double edged sword because that's the only time I get craving and would kill for a treat! - last months craving was garlic bread! - just have to ride it out I'm afraid

Hi Sara :)

Sorry you aren't feeling so good. :( Hope you feel better soon - and then those numbers will come down too! 8)
