Cut out all carbsIt could be because you’ve cut your carbs, how much have you cut them by?
I was told I didn’t need to test my blood sugars, but I don’t always do as I’m told!
You’ll learn so much more by testing before and after your meals.
I do have a meter just don't have the money to get the strips and lancets.First of all - if you feel very unwell then you should seek medical attention as quickly as possible - especially with breathing issues.
A lot of doctors and nurses say not to test BGs but as you are on medication AND have reduced your carbs you are, in effect 'driving blind'. I would re-introduce some carbs until you are have a meter and can see what cutting out carbs is doing to your BG on an meal by meal basis.
I think most people on this forum would recommend a meter one and testing regularly so you can see how you're doing. Medical professionals tend not to recommend testing because if they did recommend it then they would have to prescribe the meter and the test strips which they don't like doing.
I don’t understand, do you mean obvious carbs like bread, rice, pasta, etc.. ? Even fruit and vegetables contain some carbohydrate, do you count your carbs accurately?Cut out all carbs

I agree that if you're feeling really unwell I'd seek medical help. Better to be safe than sorry.First of all - if you feel very unwell then you should seek medical attention as quickly as possible - especially with breathing issues.

Phoning in the morning !!When you say cut out all carbs - do you mean no veg - just meat and fat?
Yes, strips are expensive - then I really do recommend seeking medical attention ASAP and explain to your doctor that you've reduced your carbs - he might reduce your meds.
I've just googled jardiance empagliflozin and apparently it works by removing glucose from the body through urine - so any glucose that you've got (whether from carbs or via gluconeogenesis) is being removed by the jardiance. I really do think you need to see your GP and ask for advice as soon as possible.
Been t2 since end of June, had my Hba1c test done and the result were down from 80 to 61, I have completely cut out carbs for past ten days, been told by docs need another blood test done as they think am iron levels are down. But feeling really unwell, shortness of breath, legs are very very shaky and general unwell? Is it all linked?
I've got a meter just can't seem to get hold of the lancetsHave a look at the side effects of Jardiance, and see if any bells are being rung

You need a blood glucose meter, they are essential whatever your doctor says. When you feel unwell like this you need to know if it is because your levels have either rocketed upwards, or dropped down and are too low, which can happen when you stop eating carbs in conjunction with your type of medication. It is unlikely they have rocketed if you have cut carbs to a minimum
You need medical assistance with this, and you need to buy a meter. We can help you find one with cheaper strips if you wish.
