Intense exercise will use up glucose stores in everybody diabetic or not but if you are not on any of the stronger medications used to lower your blood sugar (such as gliclazide or insulin) then exercise is very unlikely to induce a hypo - the symptoms are more likely to be related to dehydration, muscle fatigue, basic fitness level etc. Lowering your sugars can tho induce a ‘false hypo’ where you experience some of the same symptoms as with a hypo but your blood sugars are not at hypo level ( below 4mmol) - with a false hypo, the symptoms reflect the body experinencing a lower blood sugar than it is used to rather than a ‘true’ hypo
