Hey
I got diagnosed when I was 4 and I'm 18 now. This week I my cousin got diagnosed with cancer and that means that in the past 10 months 3 members of my family have been diagnosed with cancer and I've just gone into like a really down mood. I've looked online about people feeling down with type 1 diabetes and it's all about people being newly diagnosed and feeling upset but nothing about people have been diagnosed for a longer time. Just feel so down and I'm never going to get a day off of having diabetes. Just felt like I needed to write down how I felt somewhere!

Hey. That's tough. I guess the thing to remember is that anyone could feel down under those circumstances. It's not necessarily the diabetes causing it. The diabetes just adds to it and makes it feel worse. Try to do something positive each day. A swim, a walk, anything to take yourself away from the problems.

Take care

you are going through such a lot at the moment but try & make time for yourself

Oh dear, life is horrible sometimes isn't it? Like smidge says though, we all get down sometimes whether we have diabetes or not. I am T2 so not familiar with your T1 type but depression isn't something to be ignored. Exercise is wonderful for lifting a black mood, apart from anything else it's hard to be depressed when you are gasping for breath! ;) The good after effects of exercise last for some hours after you have stopped but I know that the worse thing about it is getting started. Have you read all the posts in the Type1 forum? And the ones in the Exercise forum might be useful too.

I know that everything seems awful at the moment and I do know what you mean about never having a day off from it...not gonna happen is it? Well, life stinks sometimes and that's it and all about it. It's how we cope with the stinkyness that matters really. Try to keep yourself positive because if you don't it will be much much harder to deal with the downs but apart from that, the people you care about would benefit from your positive attitude I know.

Good luck hon :)

Thank you everyone. I agree about the exercise I'm going to try and get back into running. Just felt like I needed to write down and say how I was feeling. I really appreciate it thank you. Hope you're all doing well, us diabetics need to stick together!
