Hi all , 3 months ago after having a reading of 28 mmol i was diagnosed with type 2 , i have been on metformin 500mg x2 daily .My meter is now telling my my fasting is between 4-5.5 and 2 hours after meals around 8 which i am pleased with. The problem i am having with this is that as my sugars have reduced i seem to be getting dizziness and tremors etc , has anyone experienced this , could it be my reaction to getting used to normal levels again , many thanks

Sounds like, as you say, your body is still getting used to your new, low levels. Until your "body clock" resets itself to your new settings, your body will think that you are hypo'ing (which you are doing relatively!).
Hopefully the "false hypos" will start to disappear relatively soon.

I had this a couple of times when I finally got a handle on my numbers and started hitting 4s and 5s. It soon passed.

I'm only 3 weeks in and am experiencing the dizziness too. And the blurry nearsight vision......my pound shop reading glasses have never seen so much use! :watching:

Also Metformin seems to effect everybody differently, it didn't give me major problems and my body adjusted to it but a few times it made me feel unwell.

Hi, no expert but think I read somewhere can be good to bring high sugars down gradually, to help body adjust....and that can help any affects on eyes.......also read about adding bit more sodium in to diet when cutting carbs to say less than 50g...others may be along who can help you more.
