Is it a diabetic thing to feel weepy for no reason. I've slowly become very down during the day, I didn't sleep overly well last night so I'm tired. I feel a little stressed too for no reason feel like I don't know what to do with myself. Feel snappy too. Or am I just being moody.

Check your BG. could be that.
T2s are not immune from other stuff that makes people weepy though. So could be lots of reasons. I go a bit odder than usual if I have an infection or virus starting.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hiya, have you had your thyroid checked? Also what are your blood sugars like as some of your symptoms could relate to high blood sugars.

If my blood sugar has dipped too low (hypo) I can get depressed, hopeless and weepy. And I'm more prone to it when stressed and sleep deprived.

The quickest way I know to feel better is to get my blood glucose back on a comfortable, steady even keel. So I avoid carbs, bread, rice, pasta, potato, fruit and anything sweet and instead I eat meat, fish, eggs, cheese and non starchy veg for a few meals until things steady down.

Your profile says you are type 2, on metformin. Does that mean your doc says you don't need to test?

Spot on type 2 and diabetic nurse says I don't need to test. So in answer to everyone else I don't know what my bs is doing.

Feeling a bit weepy can also be part of life's rollercoaster ....sometimes a cry is enough just to release all those feeling ..to actually make you feel better ...or do tne opposite and do something which makes you feel happier ....
Yes of course it could be blood sugars ...I can't add to that
But I do hope you feel better soon ....
Please seek help if the feelings continue

I was told I am prediabetic and given 6 months to sort it out with diet and excercise, no mention about testing my BG. So found this site and read a lot and bought a meter and started testing. Can't understand why they don't advise you to test your blood if they think you have a problem. How can you control it if you don't test.

That's what I think too but I'm told it will make me paranoid. I can't afford to fund it myself I am struggling as it is. I just want to know what the food is doing to me.

My testing (even when testing 5x a day) costs me £5 a week. I know that's a lot when on a restricted budget, but the peace of mind is priceless.

I use the SD Codefree meter, which is the cheapest I've seen. £14 for the meter. £7 for a pot of 70 strips.

Edited: oops. Sorry. A pot has 50, not 70 strips in it!

I think maybe a chat with your doctor would be a good idea it sounds like you are suffering from mild depression or anxiety and that does not need a reason why, not everything is down to diabetes and diet. Testing your blood could tell you what food is doing to your BG levels but as you say funding it yourself is not possible, even with the cheapest strips it can still be expensive if you are on a strict budget Hope you feel better soon
