FOOTBALL. MY husband is a sports fanatic and watches everything. Most i can put up with just not football.
Is it normal to still get painfull feet if your sugars are reasonably ok? It is always on the outside of my feet.

There's loads of reasons feet can hurt so don't panic. If it becomes a problem i'm sure the doc can the cause.

Hi mistee.
Yes it IS posssible , my toots hurt whatever my BG levels sit at.
Might be worth a trip to your GP and talk this through with him/her.
They can refer you to the relevant clinics podiatry , chiropody , if needed.
My toots are always giving me jip ! ! !
Worse in the colder weather too.... :(
Hope this helps?

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes I'd rather ask a question on here than go to the docs in case they think I'm being a bit of a drama queen. When first diagnosed 5 months i suffered quite bad with nerve damage in my legs and could hardly walk or sit, cramps in me legs excesive sweating practically everything but sore feet. Now everything has cleared up but now developed sore feet. I went for my first foot check a couple of weeks ago and tried asking about my sore feet and she just shrugged as if to say she hadn't a clue. All that happened was, i went in, sat on this table/chair thing. She got this machine and found my pule on top of my foot. Then she got this plastic wire and prodded my feet. That was it. Literally 5 minutes. I expected more but she said low risk and that was that. I think i could of got more info about my feet from a dentist.

Hi .
How are your feet 'sore' ???
Is it sore skin ? or in the bones ? joints? pain when hot or cold? in bed at night? pain when walking?
They do grade things as low, medium, high risk when it comes to the feet!
I attended a meeting on this with my local diabetes support group in my local town.
It was the top lancs podiatrist who spoke to us all.
If you have 3 or more diasabling foot conditions you will be graded 'high risk'
Afraid my ears were most alert here! as thats what I am...
With ortho/rheumatiod arthritis , diabetic neuropathy , talipes equinovarus gives me the
high risk factor.
Was referred to the specialist diabetes foot clinic , podiatry foot clinic, and the bio mechanics
instantly.
Given tramadol pain relief and pregablin for the neuropathic pain. [this affects my memory terribly]
On a bad day needs must though!
They did the doplar sensory tests on you and tested your pulses , and circulation .
If you can tell me bit more about your sore feet , might be able to suggest some things to help
you along your way!
Hope this helps?

Mistee,

I notice on your profile you do a lot of walking, make sure your shoes/boots are the correct fitting and not compacting your feet as this can lead to discomfort, if the pain continues ask your gp to refer you to a podiatrist for further investigation.

I haven't been able to walk for a couple of months due to gallstones pancreatitus so not shoes. Wish it was. My feet hurt hurt the whole length of the foot but only onthe outer soles. The pain is sort of like a cramping pain but instead of cramping and then releases, it sort of cramps and stays like that for a few hours. The outer side of the ball of my foot, just below the little toe goes numb at times and quite often sort of feels like its gone all squidy inside. That part is an awful feeling. Also i get like the nerves twitching on the outer sides. It feels like tissue rather than bone. Sometimes at night only my feet feel like they are burning and the arches feel like the are gonna cramp any minute. They dont though.

Definitely worth going back to your gp and asking for a referral to your local hospital for further investigation, if the gp you seen last time is no good then see a different doctor in the practise (if possible).

Hi .
I would certainly make an appointment with your GP ASAP .
Go along and talk it all through with him/her.
The burning feet at night, nerves twitching, and the spasm cramping must be so painful for you.
It all rang some bells with me! Try making the appt JUST for your feet 'only' , let your GP know everything . . .
I was asked to describe my discomfort and pain in my feet . [you could try doing this?]
Inflammation isnt always a visible thing!
You certainly wont be able to walk long distance now.
In the meantime do keep your feet warm and wear comfy footwear .
Hope this helps?

Hi Anna, from what you have learn't does it sound like anything you know of? Dont worry, not asking for diagnosis, just you opinion please. It doesn't happen every day but can last from 1 day to about 3 days. I feel a bit fed up with my doctors at the moment because i had seen 3 different doctors with the pains in my stomach and all 3 missed i had pancreatitus. I feel they might try and fob me off agian and will try and put up with it if it might just go away.

Hi mistee,
the description you gave describes possibly could be some inflammatory stress in your feet.
Best to see your own GP about this .
Please MAKE that appointment with your GP and discuss with him/her.
Surely they cant miss things again with you?
Understand that you must feel wary and possibly distrustful at the moment.
Hope this helps?
