Feet?

chocoholic

Well-Known Member
My blood sugars are pleasingly levelling out nicely now (readings in the 4's and 5's again yesterday) BUT I am surprised to find that each night in bed, my feet feel as though they are constantly burning. I had this a couple of years ago when my blood sugars were running high but oddly no recurrance until a few weeks back.
I had my feet tested recently by the DN and she said I had full sensation in my feet, so has anyone any ideas why I should have foot problems (and it is only in bed) now? Any ideas for ridding myself of these sensations?
Thanks.

It could be something completely unrelated to your diabetes,Choccie.Hormones perhaps? Best thing would be to ask doctor next time you see him/her.There are quite a few things that can cause burning feet so it's best to get it checked out professionally.

Thanks, Sue and Timo. I suppose it is possible it's not related to the diabetes. I tend to always blame that for everything now, as prior to the diabetes I was always blessed with good health.
Haven't seen a doc. since I was wrongly diagnosed with asthma 6 years ago, so I suppose I am due a visit.

Hi

Try Vitamin B12 it helped me get rid of my burning feets - and keep your sugar low at all time - it can be that your nerves are a bit affected by many years of diabetes - I have another medicament that I took as well - I will get right back to you with the name - and the B12 X 3 per day after each meal....

OK here we go:

Daily:

Vitamin B12 X 3 tablets
Vitamin Alpha-Lipioc X 2 Tablets
and Methycobal 0.5mg X 3 tablets

after each meal.

A glass of redwine before sleeping - carry on until the buzz is gone....

Good luck

I get burnign of the heel of my feet, but generally it's in the day and not at night, I was seen by the podiatorist for this and am awaiting some special insoles to be made. hopefully this will help. I had problems with crmap in my feet at night, which kept me awake and hoppinh out of bed, which I took one month of quinnie sulphate tablets prescribed by my GP which cured it.
