Hi everyone.
Can anyone help please. I went for my usual walk yesterday but after about 3/4 of an hour I came over very wobbly and could not walk in a straight line,I had to sit down for a while and the feeling seemed to get a bit better. I have never felt like this before and felt a bit frightened. I am type 2 diet controled (since november) and do watch what I eat. Can anyone tell me why this happened and what could have caused it. I do not see the D N untill May. Advice would be very welcome Thank you

Could be a number of reasons lou, if it happens again I would see your gp.

Not sure what your diet is, but if you restrict your food and do lots of exercise, you could have had low blood sugar - NOTE; that's low blood sugar as opposed to a dangerous Hypo which people on insulin or similar can get. Low blood sugar is something a non-diabetic can get as easily as a diabetic if they don't eat and then do lots of exercise. Don't go stuffing a mars bar to bring your sugar level up though! Your liver will normally release glycogen to bring levels up. Sit down for a mo and rest. Or have your normal meal. Or a bit of fruit. If you go for long walks, you may need to ensure your diet allows for adequate energy before you set off. My very fit non-diabetic daughter gets this often when she's working out in the field (biologist) and can't get to food.
You may notice low blood sugars more than others if you've previously been used to running with high BGs.
If it carries on, and you're concerned, see the doc.
