The term "big boned" lol repeatedly told this growing up!
When I had my results yesterday the only thing that flagged up was very high ferritin levels. Seeing as I take a supplement for hair and nails and have done for as long as I can remember I was advised to stop taking it. I also take vitamin c 1000 mg and a cranberry tablet (helps with fluid retention and urine infections). Anyone else had similar high ferritin levels. It can make you feel tired, flaky nails, etc all what I had but the fatigue comes and goes. Can be fine for a week and then it hits like a brick.

I have just checked the levels of vitamins in my hair and nails supplement and the daily amount of iron is 12mg. Couple that with the amount of iron rich foods I am consuming with the lchf diet, I think that is causing the overload of ferritin in my body. I have taken the supplement for years but obviously before I probably needed it due the bad food choices I had. My iron levels have always been very good apart from many years ago when my iron stores were very low due to peri bleeding. So I think I have made the connection. The amount of steak etc I probably don't need a supplement anymore :nurse:

I’ll take some of your spare! Can’t get mine out of single figures no matter what.
Bless if I could I would - if they stay high perhaps I may have to volunteer for the vampires to extract!
