I don’t see why quite a few people get scared of airports with security.

Like I’ve flown so many times from both Heathrow, Gatwick and other countries over 10 times and we never mentioned about the insulin needles at college or to security staff and we have never been stopped or asked about the diabetic stuff.

But few tips:
1. If your worried keep the needles with your insulin which will be in your liquid bag. So that way security will easily be able to see it’s related to your medical stuff.
2. If you do take emergency glucagon with you and it’s over 100ml you should say something to security as there’s exceptions for medications. However we don’t bother taking this as I rarely hypo
3. If your unlucky enough to get asked just show them the letter and the things should be fine
4. Just think of airport security like museum security who check bags just with more rules. You don’t get asked about it at museums. So you probably won’t at airport.

To be honest your not likely to get asked and this is probably because so many people have diabeties that airport security probs see it very often

Ps I don’t know much about pumps but if there made of metal take it off or tell the security staff.

I have just flown across Australia on three different aircraft. My laptop bag had my medication and bgl testing stuff in it.

It was a cursory inspection here in Bundy, and a closer look in Brisbane. Another good look in Perth, and it will be be the same coming home from Geraldton I hope.
