well apparently, a low carb diet can help with that.So I’ve found out today I may have fibromyalgia. Dr wants to do a couple of blood tests just to rule out a few other things but he’s pretty certain what it is. After being in constant pain from my neck down to my toes for about a year now I’m finally glad to have a diagnosis and hopefully on the way to getting some pain relief.
Hate to tell you but there is no pain relief, control maybe but if you truly have fibromyalgia then welcome to living hockey stick. Because there is no one treatment for it, it is a junk catch all of medical when they can't find another root cause. To explain your pain, or do not care to look further or get other specialists involved.
Was told I have fibromyalgia 5 years ago, didnt believe the doc sounded wrong n fishy. Yep it was he never put down in my official medical records that diagnosis, he actually put insufferable pain (which is a completely separate condition) and sent me on my way. To live in pain, my gp took his word at face value and nothing more.
Fast forwars new gp one who sides with ne that there is something wrong and to get to the bottom of it, three neurologists later and many MRIs, CT/PET scans and several nerve conduction tests and I get dianosed with Dystonia (which is a condition that can cause insufferable pain).
I'm not saying fibromyalgia doesn't exist but it has become for many a catch all instead of continuing to search. Or so it does seem from all the people I've talked to who say that they have fibromyalgia and who havent kept searching for answers when lifestyle changes are made and what not.
Good luck on your journey and dont let them white wash things because it doesnt dit into a tidy whole.
Just to say I had my vitamin D3 measured and it was low. (No Sun)Yes, fibro is the diagnosis they give when they have exhausted everything else. There is no definitive test for it other than unexplained pain in one or more joints for , if I remember correctly, 3months.
Interestingly I read that intestinal yeast infections can be related to it, and I wouldn't be surprised if oxolate toxicity may be involved as well, as that can cause unexplained joint pain and similar symptoms to fibro.
Intestinal yeast infection is related to leaky gut and is like SIBO only it's a yeast overgrowth in the small intestine. People can have the infection for years without knowing, becoming increasingly more miserable as time goes on.
Treatment is a diet designed to starve out the yeast, similar to keto diet, but different. Probably why low carb diets help fibro.

A couple of years on and everybody is talking menopause. It can be one of the symptoms as well. And tinnitus.@MissMJ73 - within all the tests you have
Hi there - your new diagnosis must be a bit of a blow.
In all the tests your Doc has done, has he checked out your thyroid? There is considered, by some, to be a connection between under-treated hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia.
The sad reality is fibromyalgia is a definition of default, and best guess, when other causes are ruled out.
Good luck with it all.
