Hi,

I am posting for a friend who has had serious problems since giving birth to her little boy 2 years ago, the pain is in the middle of her back and in both of her legs and prevents her from sleeping! She has been to her GP who sent her for an MRI which came back clear and her GP just said she has some dryness??? Her mother has fibromyalgia too, so thinks she has it aswell but isn't sure! Can anyone help or shed some light please? :)

Hypothyroidism? Low B12? They often come together. And in some cases fibromyalgia is a symptom of hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism often starts at times of hormonal upheaval like pregnancy or menopause.

Thank you I'll mention it to her...she is only 21 though!

A second cousin of mine was diagnosed at the age of eleven. I'v had it since I was 26.
Question about myself now...remember a while back I posted about feeling dizzy/lightheaded? And I got myself checked out but came back all clear?? Well anyway it stopped for a while but now it has come back again! I feel like I really am going to faint sometimes...I feel asif my blood is low when it's really not and I have done the control solution on my meter and even tested on another meter! I have doctor's Friday anyway but could it be worth while going to the Opticians??????

Your friend may have sciatica or similar,if no other fibro symptoms its probably not that,as for thyroid mine first went wonky at 21:)

I was thinking sciatica too as that's what I have but mine is due to slipped discs, wouldn't something have shown up on the MRI though?

Hi Nicola, your friends symptoms could one of many medical conditions. It's probably going to be a precess of elimination by her GP to rule some out.
Thyroid : my teenager was borderline with thyroid when she was just 7 years old ( her last year in Infant school and no medication). I was so concerned about her, but after the blood test results, our GP said it might fully develop when she is a teenager. Sometimes she appears to have symptoms, but not all the time, so I am on guard.

Take care RRB x
