You don't have to advance it every test click, unless its free or you're rich.I like the Accu-Chek nano FastClix, it has a drum that only needs to be changed after six readings and a dial to choose the needle penetration.

Another vote for the Accu-Chek Fastclix.
How do you get it to prick the exact bit you want it to prick?
I have now ordered a Accucheck Aviva Nano from Boots. Purely to get the Fast clix lancing device. I probably could have saved myself the money if I'd talked to the right people, but I'm tired and cranky and it was just a few clicks on the puter!
I'll remember that for future!Accu-Chek care-line are very good, they would have sent one out for nothing, especially with you being type 1 and testing multiple times a day.
What do you mean?
The prick is never where I want it to be - I try for the side of my finger near the nail and am lucky if that's where it comes. More often than not it comes much further inwards. Am I being silly here? It wouldn't surprise me.

No not silly
I don't know, I just hold it against the side of my finger and fire away, don't really aim for a particular area. Sorry if that doesn't help.
I use the accucheck fastclix. It's great. I now use the Bayer monitor but have kept my fastclix as it's so good. My brother is now requesting one after seeing mine. The 6 lancet drum is extremely convenient.Which is the easiest and gentle to use? I've a nice little short one that came with my iBGStar meter, but at setting number 1 it can vary from just right, to not hitting the skin at all, to nearly taking the whole finger off. Leaving bruises at times! What's out there worth getting, and how do I get one?

I've noticed that I have to ensure that it is placed carefully on your finger to ensure even pricking.
