Hi Guys,

I am a rather active person, and due to this, if test my blood glucose very frequently. However, I am beginning to notice small scar-like marks on my fingers from where I test. Has anyone got any tips as to anything that I can put on my hands to prevent this?

Thanks!

I don't know of anything you can put on your hands, apart from handcream (which you then have to remember to wash off before next testing).

My advice would be to rotate your fingers (e.g. left handed fingers on odd dates and right handed fingers on even dates), ensure your pricker is on the lowest setting to still give blood and change your lancets often.

@HarryCarter . A lot of things to remember regarding fingers.
Rotation of fingers. Very easy to use same fingers all the time.
TLC for fingers. Long soak in warm water, apply a good hand cream, use a pumice stone to remove hard scarred skin from finger tips.
Set lancet to right depth, you only need a drop of blood, you're not drilling for oil.
Get blood to fingertips before you prick, warm water, rubbing hands and fingers, shaking hands in a downwards motion can all help.
Good luck.

What a great analogy, gotta pay out on that one.
