Just watching a bit on the One Show about how the childrens costumes can catch light and flare up so quickly when exposed to flames. So please be careful when you've got children dressing up and there are candles, open fires or even electric/gas fires. Aparrently the CE label is no guarantee that a costume is safe.

That's what happened to Claudia Winklmans 8 year old daughter at Halloween .So tragic

Did it really,I have bought my niece a little mermaid outfit for Christmas, but I am sure her parents like her so should keep her away from the fire.

NO. Set fire to children.
Are you planning roast children for Christmas dinner then?!

I often wonder how we survived in the pre-nanny-state era - has common sense been bred out of us now?

Robbity

PS Use a fireguard if you have a combination of young children and open flame or electric fires.

I meant to write Winkleman, not Winkler.

Thinking of buying my next door neighbours little brat.....sorry boy one of them steam engines, you know the ones powered by paraffin. I'll tell 'em it doubles as a heater for his bedroom
