In a funny sort of way I'm glad this has come at this time in my life, as my son is nearly 18 and now more responsible and doing things for himself. As a single parent for all of his life I think bringing him up on my own and having diabetes would have been a big struggle. As it is I don't get distracted now and can manage to cope quite well.

Well done to you on bringing your son up on your own,it is hard with two parents but as a single parent it is twice the worry and work,there never seems to be enough hours in the day they say that laughter is the best form of medicine oh and an apple a day so I've been told.In a funny sort of way I'm glad this has come at this time in my life, as my son is nearly 18 and now more responsible and doing things for himself. What you're saying is true but in my case as Leon grew up so did his independence which although just small little things ie washing himself and cleaning his teeth on his own gives you just that little extra time to yourself. Much needed. Now it's not a matter of my time he wants or needs but my money.
