Hello all, after initial diagnosis at fasting levels of 7.1 and 7.2, today I received my first A1c result over the phone. It's 5.
My GP, who I have to see for an appointment at the end of the week ,says this an excellent result and whatever I've been doing since the last blood tests regarding diet and exercise has certainly worked. What I've been doing is going to the gym three or four times a week, walking rather than driving/catching the bus and following a low-moderate carb diet as advocated by many on this forum.
The advice and time taken to explain this condition by those who have replied to my queries is greatly appreciated and, I must say, far better than anything I've received from the NHS so far. Thanks.
