So this time last year my life was normal. I was in the middle of moving house and area.

Fast forward to 11/8/18 when everything changed. Ended up in A&E with kidney stones and told my sugars were 16.9 and I was diabetic.

So my anniversary is coming up in less than a month.

I have Drs appt booked for 16/8 and planning on doing my bloods on 12/8.

I am slowly becoming increasingly nervous.

Is this normal?

I keep remembering this time last year and what was happening without the diabetes. Is this normal?

Surely it should be just another blood test! I’ve had so many this year I feel like I should be used to it.

But this one feels different for some reason.

If it is a full review there wont be any difference to your other reviews. Bloods, feet, weight, reminder for retitnopathy scan. Just the usual. Good Luck, I'm sure you will Rock This One!

I don’t know if it’s a diabetic review. Isn’t that with the nurse?
Think this is literally just my full bloods.

The review should then follow if you're due one. But of course you know that you will have access to the blood test results within about 48 hours so in time for a review and you can then discuss any changes with the nurse or doctor.

The receptionists never give me the results and if they do they always get it wrong
.

Before they refused saying dr hasn’t commented. When I spoke to dr she said well I was happy with everything so didn’t need to.

So now I just go and see her

You are within your rights to see all results. Sign up on line with your practice or you can demand a printout. Government has told all surgeries in England to do this.

I am using patient access but my practice doesn’t do online blood results.
I’ll check again when I go but they don’t do it at the mo

You have to fill out a special request form to get your test results through on Patient Access. That’s what I did. Now they are through and online pretty quickly.

They have been told to. Do ask again, it is very backward of them not to do it. You can also ask for print outs, which you are entitled to, before you go to see the nurse, Forewarned is forearmed.

Fingers crossed. Me, I had many a sleepless night waiting on the dreaded c-peptide and HbA1c.
