I've been diagnosed about 18 years, type 2 on glic, met and lantus. The past few weeks I've been lower carbing and controlling my sugars so well (between 5-7). Last night before bed I was 5.1 so I reduced my lantus from 42-32 units. Less than an hour later I was sweating, heart pounding and couldn't focus. Sugars 2.9. I didn't have anything else in so it was jam sandwiches and chocolate. 20 mins later they had shot up to 5.7. They are 15.7 now! I've got an eye operation (unrelated to diabetes) on Monday so I'll have to tell the hospital. I assume the diabetes clinic will suggest I reduce my medication. Any thoughts? X
