Hi I was diagnosed as t2 last april . My HbAIc was then 49 . Since then I have succeeded in losing weight, taking more exercise, sticking to a GI diet and generally looking after myself.
Recent blood tests my HbA1c was down to 43.
I was put on 40mg simvastatin,
5 mg Ramipril as this is the usual procedure guideline when becoming t2.
All is well and I am currently up to date with all the monitoring which comes with Diabetes.

But I would like to start blood testing (but my DN does not think, probably due to expense, that I need a blood glucose machine. )
I am due for another diabetic appointment in June. I would like to purchase a blood monitoring machine. Trouble is I have been researching on the pc all info about these machines and am still stumped as to what to buy. I wonder if anyone can put me wise to a simple monitoring machine which requires reasonably cheap lancets and testing strips.
Thank you
