I see many people posting on here about their first time having anti-vegf treatment. so I thought I post my experience.
It might look scary, but it is not at all and it is painless. The nurse before hand will numb your eye which is been treated, then they will put some iodine to prevent infection, they will dilate your eye. When you go into the treatment room, you will either lie down or sit in a chair, they will put more numbing drops and then they will put a small drape over the eye and use a tool to keep the eyelids still, then they will inject the drug and that is it.
Your eye will be blurry for a few hours and might feel gritty, best to rest for the day and if you feel any pain, then take a painkiller, if it gets worse go back to the hospital, but it never happens and you will be fine after 24 hours.
I have had several done and the results are great, it reduces the fluid in your eye and stops more blood vessels forming.
