Good day to all, this is my first time writing on the forum but I have often appreciated the advice here as a guest reader.
I am hoping some of you may have some advice on a particular issue I am having with being a Type 1 diabetic/First time house buyer. Essentially my mortgage broker recommends I secure "Income Protection Cover" to protect my mortgage should I become too ill to work, or too injured to work etc. sounds sensible yes? Unfortunately every Insurance company I have tried will not cover Type 1 diabetics! If anyone is aware of any Type 1 friendly Insurance companies I would be very grateful for their advice.
Many thanks,
Craislives

I originally took my policy out with a company called Cornhill Insurance who's policies were sold on to Phoenix Life, you can get policies if you shop around but they heavily load the premiums due to the type 1 diabetes, try a specialist insurance broker who specialise in medical conditions.

I bought a house just over a year ago and where income protection is concerned I couldnt find anyone that would touch me.

For other insurance I beleive that Aviva were about the most progressive where T1's are concerned.
