First trip back to the hospital

Today was my first trip back to see the diabetes team at the hospital.

Had my eyes done and no obvious issues there. What suprised me was how amenable the doctor was to me telling him I haven't been taking any Gliclazide and managing through diet. He just checked my spreadsheet and downloaded my results before dismissing me with, "You're good, diet controlled, see you in 6 months".

I was expecting a battle. He did offer GLP-1 to assist in losing weight, but then retracted the offer and just doubled my Metformin to 1000mg.

I have an appointment in two days with the diabetic team at my surgery, I hope they exchange notes.

Excellent; long may it continue. Re the surgery comparing notes with the hospital: call me a cynic but in my view it ain't gonna happen..... just bear in mind that the diabetes team at the hospital are specialists and the people at the surgery, erm, aren't, and apportion weight to their comments accordingly ......

Yes, I agree. I think the surgery team may question my sanity so I will need to be armed with facts.

Nah they won't question your sanity, they will just put you up against a wall and shoot you hehehehe.

I'm type II and refused medication asking they give me a chance to try control my diabetes with diet only.

I had my 2nd check up in December and they were well impressed with how I'm doing. If you feel something isnt for you dont be afraid to challenge it
