Yeah likewise. If I’m buying tinned I will only buy it if it’s with olive oil. Then I rinse them off and usually serve with my own oil and/or olives in olive oil and often a good helping of sauerkraut. Mostly though I buy the fish outright, either for cooking myself, or already pre-cooked to serve cold as above.
Mrs Listlad is half cat and half woman. She eats a lot of fish. Unfortunately she isn’t always choosey about the oil she cooks it in, though I have succeeded in getting her to move to olive oil or butter.
She eats a lot of tinned sardines, fresh mackerel and tinned tuna aswell as a wide range of other fish. I also eat the tinned tuna and some of the John West tuna offerings are flavoured or just simply in brine.
A tin of (no drain) John West tuna in chilli And garlic, for example, is very low in carbs though does have extra virgin olive oil in the mix.
