Fixing Dad, the documentary made by two sons about their father and his diabetes, is going to be shown on BBC2 at 10pm on Sunday. They are being interviewed on The One Show this evening.
Well, I finally watched it myself and thought it was thought provoking an quite inspirational. I would have probably preferred a few more specifics re dietary guidelines - but I enjoyed it. I'm going to subscribe to Aseem Mulhotra's new film tomorrow - maybe the BBC will screen that in 2 years too! Must be cheaper than actually producing investigative journalism!
Oldvatr, I think we have to remember this piece is a bit of docu-journalism, and a bit like the Doctor In Your House series and others. I, personally, don't believe that a programmes that went into his readings, details of his diet and so on, would hold a lay audience, whereas this video, and the like, can give a message that for some people, with hard work and perseverance, can achieve good results. I know I keep going on about it, but those affected by Diabetes, and the like, need hope, to promises. I think this video gave a message of hope and could have pricked the curiosity genes of a few people.
