Try this - buy flaxseed in the non-fancy plasic packet from H&B (it is much cheaper than the fancy linseed they are selling) = 0.7 g carb per 100g so v low. Then mill yourself in coffee grinder or blender. Has the same consistency as the linseed and I can't taste the difference. Actually I have been wondering if they are one and the same?
I am also using whey protein powder as a part substitute for flour. That also works well.
I tried making bread with yeast last night. It was OK but any hints on how I can get it to rise more - I don't have a bread machine so used the bread hook on the mixer to knead and used the xanthum gum to combine it. But it toasted great for breakfast, I could spread butter on it and I'm going to have some more now.
Maybe this should be over in the food forum?
Did your bread have yeast and what recipe did you use? M
