I just looked at the article and picture at the top shows a relatively empty tube train. I worked in London for many years.

My friend arranged to work 6.30am to 3.30 pm 4 days a week so she could have Fridays off, but it suited the company as it often had guys out working all hours on supply interuptions (they're not power cuts!)

Our company just brought in flexible working a week before this announcement. I love it because i can now work at my most productive times and leave earlier to ho for a swim while the pool is quiet. I think its making me more productive and helping my health. Its win-win for me and my employer i believe.

There has been flexible working hours in the Civil Service since the 1970's. It works well for everybody, workers and employers. Definitely a win-win situation.
