had to have urgent bloods done during the week
called yesterday for results thyroid needs attention
flouride glucose was 13.7, receptionist said it looked good
not sure why HBA1C wasnt tested as diabetic nurse was the one who took the bloods
not sure what that means
i asked for a print out and they are having problems printing at moment so i have to wait until thats sorted
im seeing dr 24th july (for thyroid)so hopefully can get a print out then
 
Fluoride is used to stop blood from clotting and to prevent glucose from being broken down before the specimen can be tested. A random blood glucose of 11.1 mmol/l or above is at a diabetic level.
 
Hi @licklemoose, Not sure what flouride glucose means.
HBA1C is 'glycosylated HBA1C).
Maybe the blood test was taken in a tube containing some reagent with fluorine in it ?
Perhaps wait for the printout to see what it says ?
 
It's to do with timing, the tubes used for collection and these two factors can affect the measurements of thyroid hormones.
