Flu and high blood sugar readings

After an early start at work 5.30 am and good readings all day between 4.7 and 6.7 , I got home and went to bed for a couple of hours because I have a heavy cold which has moved into my chest.
Took nova mix 14 units and had dinner chicken salad coleslaw and a small baked spud 2 hours later my bloods are 15.4 !
What do I do to get them down?
 
Sorry to hear you're feeling rough. Although I've used novomix previously...it was a long time ago so not entirely sure what to suggest. Hopefully someone with better knowledge than I will be along shortly to help you out...in the mean time...drink plenty of water and run a search on the sick day rules...I know @noblehead has a link to these...I seem to be unable to do it on my phone anymore. Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you , I'll check out sick day rules.
 
I've took 4 extra units of nova mix and 3 pints of water , blood reading now down to 6.2.
 
I had a nasty virus at Christmas and my levels are good but I saw a huge change while I was unwell
