You should have been offered the flu jab and allowed to make your own decision instead of told you had to have it. Either way, it is highly recommended for diabetics because the benefits outweigh the risks, unless the person has a rare medical condition.

Cold and flu viruses are different to each other and it is possible to be developing a cold and coincidentally have a flu jab at the same time. Nothing in the flu jab increases the chance of getting a cold. It's just bad luck. Hope you feel better soon.

I have always took my flu immunization every year and have never had a cold after it. Any connection between the flu shot and getting the cold is wrong and pure coincidence. A lot of cold viruses circulate at this time of year. Better protected from influenza than not especially if you are diabetic.

I have always had the flu jab every year but this year I got a reaction to it and felt groggy, achey and yuk for about 5 days. When I mentioned it to the nurse she said that it was good I'd had the jab as this meant if I had actually caught this particular strain of flu then I would have been really, really ill. Feel fine now though.

I also got a cold a week after my jab but think I was already hibernateing it when I had my injection don't think it was the flu jab that caused it

You should not be told!! All patients have an option to say yes or no for any treatment.

Flujab gave me hell 2 years ago.. No way would I have last year or this year or any year in the future....
