I had a Flu jab at my appointment with my DN the other day, blood sugar has been 3 - 5 points higher since, on the same diet - is this normal? and how long will it last?

Hi bigskip .

Normally it should only last couple 2 - 4 days then things will settle back down again.
Its the same with a cortisone injection too , sends the readings up a little , then they will settle back down.

Keep an eye on your wellbeing and any raised temperature also in the meantime.
Sometimes after the flu jab it can give a bit of a stiff sore achey feeling in flu jab injected arm
with a raised temperature as side effects in 'some cases' .

Hope this helps ...

Anna.

Thank you Anna

Hope normality will be back tomorrow, feeling bad today, just lifeless, and bad stomach - the usual once in a while metformin day!! Can't get to gym which usually makes me feel better.

Hope you are back to normal tomorrow to enjoy your gym session

The flu jab can sometimes knock the system a bit and it may take a couple of days
for things to re-adjust back to normal .

In the meantime - go easy on yourself and take things steady :)

I know, it is the relearning a new way of lifestyle and routine
that takes the most time to adjust to.

It took me 6months to accept and adjust to it all.
Now its a way of normal life to me ...
