okra. Cigarette smoke, old, new, and permeating a room, wafting from a balcony, etc etc. That I have so many chronic diseases. That I take so very many meds. Being cold. Anything too loud, but specifically non-classical music and the television.
I have had a very weird few weeks. I’ve been skipping lunch to “fast” for Lent. Some nice BG readings along the way but some otherwise also. Yesterday and day before appeared to have an increasedly raging case of the DP’s. I decided to try something new today, and had the opportunity to test frequently too. Had a rough night, got up feeling extremely rocky, and knew I just couldn’t fast. As a matter of fact, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted. I’m working with pretty low carb, currently too high fat, and I’m pleased to say no carbs were harmed during the day, but I ate well and often.
Started the day with a small mug of rich chicken broth with 2-3 tbsp olive oil (that was the new strategy). About an hour later I ate my usual breakfast of 1/2 avocado and boiled egg, but didn’t feel like the decaf part. Took cat to vet. Came home very hungry/empty and still completely wiped out. Over the next several hours ate cream cheese, celery and almond butter, chicken wings left over from the broth making, and some 90% chocolate. BGs rose a bit but not like they did yesterday while fasting, and then commenced to fall for the rest of the day, with one small rise followed by a big drop. After more chocolate and supper foods, BGs kept falling. I have never had a day like this. How do I make sense of it?
Another new strategy I tried this afternoon was to get out a clean hand towel and dedicate it to drying test-ready hands. I figure my regular towel may have a residue of lotion on it after 2-3 uses.
Now of course I have two new variables plus the eating all I wanted.
Anybody else ever have or hear of this kind of day where BGs just keep falling regardless?
I’m attaching a pic of most of the day. The highest reading of the day, 131, is just below the bottom of the pic. Started the day at 107, which rose to 124 in an hour, pre-broth. The 131 mentioned above was an hour after broth. Note it’s in American notation. No need to convert, just look at the numbers. 99 is the top of non-D range, for reference.

Not t2 but according to the fabulous Dr Bernstein, just nibbling low carb foods all day can signal that carbs are coming in and thus produce an anticipatory 'squirt' of insulin. Your blood sugars are prefect so I guess that your beta cells are doing well from your low carb regimen!

@NicoleC1971 thanks! My bg’s may be perfect on that pic, but this has never ever happened to me before, and it’s not happening today, so whatever it was, it was fun while it lasted! Back to real life now.
