People who think they know everything about diabetes just because they are older.
People who think you don’t know anything about diabetes so they test you.
I have diabetic retinopathy. I have been told they’re going to be doing a Fluorescein Angiography because my eyes are still blurry when they shouldn’t be.

They said that if they find nothing that means there’s nothing they can do.
Does that mean I will be going blind no matter what? Or will I still have my vision and still be allowed laser eye surgery if I need it?
They said my blood vessels were either no good to have laser eye surgery or something. Honestly, after she said there’s nothing they can do if they find nothing causing the blurriness I zoned out thinking worse things.

Anyone know about this and diabetic retinopathy? No one told me I’d end up blind so I have no idea.

I am a little hesitant to write for 2 reasons. I had fluorescein in 1979 because of prolific retinopathy and a haemorrhage in my left eye. They said there was nothing they could do until the blood cleared, which it did after about 10 days. I then had laser treatment. Same thing happened with my right eye, but not so badly. They tried to give me another dose of fluorescein, but I passed out as soon as it started to go in. I am as a result registered as being allergic. Although all these years later I have some visual interference bwhen looking at a white ceiling or bright sky, I am able to see very well and still drive etc. I can't comment on whether your luck will follow the same path (I sincerely hope it does!), but my best advice is to keep your readings as much as possible within 4.0 and 10.0. I'm fairly certain that's why I can type this! The very best of luck!
