"allowed foods" are really up to you and what level of overall carbs you settle at in response to how your body reacts - Im vegetarian so the traditional "allowed" foods of meat etc dont feature in my diet, I also choose to limit carbs and cals so that overall fat level doesnt go too high (50% but of around 1000 cals)- others dont worry so much about sat fat and cals - different things suit different metabolisms and life styles
I also find that some foods that appear ok in terms of their carb content can send my sugars bonkers wereas others at exactly the same amount of carbs at face value cause no spikes so you really need to test test test to find out what works for you snd your body
