Off on a course at the end of the month for 3 days in Birmingham and I'm wanting to take my own food with me.. Can anyone suggest things that will keep (freshness) not liking the hotel menu and won't be having time to eat out.

Tins of tuna, sardines, or whatever fish you folks in the UK like! Nuts, seeds mixed together with maybe a few dark chocolate chips if you can tolerate them(!), if there is a fridge in your room, cheese, yogurt, guacamole, hard boiled eggs - all keep well. I transport these things in a cooler with an ice pack. You could take strawberries and/or raspberries too, and don't forget the cinnamon:) You can also pick up premade veg salads too.Not a fancy selection, but doable. Maybe the hotel menu will have eggs, bacon, ham, sausage for breakfast to start your day off on a good footing?! Have a good time, Sean-W! Cheers/L

Yes
tinned stuff.
Never goes off, cold sardines, cold tuna, mixed up with butter.
Jobs a good un.

My first reaction is Phone the Hotels Catering Manager Explain you problem and Email them a list of the foods you can eat and confirm your request and ask them if they can prepare a menu which meets your requirements. and if so can they email it to you so that you can agree it. Now they can say yes or no if the say no you have proof of your request you can and in my opinion should after your stay go to the local press or at least release the story on to internet to Name and shame the hotel

HOW DO YOU EXPECT ANYTHING TO CHANGE IF YOU DONT FIGHT IT ??? I suggest the hotel should be able to meet your requirements.
