Whilst not having a problem with my feet I do go to clinic to have my nails trimmed every three months or so. I now understand that NICE guidelines have changed and unless you have a foot problem nail cutting is no longer available to Diabetics. Short sighted or what......should have added I have been a Diabetic for 46 years and as I get older getting to the nails gets more difficult, although I am reasonably fit and healthy.

I've never had my nails cut by the NHS and I've been on insulin for almost 52 years and unless people have a problem with circulation, infection etc. then as far as I'm concerned the NHS money should be diverted elsewhere.

Surely they'll be exceptions for people like yourself who have difficulty cutting their own nails, especially if going private isn't an option due to low income, maybe ask your Podiatrist if you'll be exempt from the new NICE guidelines if they have changed.
