Had my first foot check at gp surgery today by a nurse. She used a doppler thing like they do to listen to a baby's heartbeat. She could not find the pulse in either foot with machine or manually but said my feet were warm and sensitive. She said to book a gp appointment so I have. Advice?

I told my chiropodists that some doctors doing my annual review have difficulty finding a pulse in one of my feet. She explained that this can happen due to the blood vessels being covered by other parts of the foot (my memory fails me as to what particular parts). She said that, as my feet are warm, they're fine.

I have no pulse in my left foot or no ankle or knee reflexes in either leg and this has been the case for about four years now.

However I have good sensitive feeling in both feet and up to as yet I have never had any foot or leg issues of any kind and I've been a Type 1 for over three decades.

I don't think it necessarily means there's a problem. The fact your feet are sensitive means you have good nerve feeling and response and if your feet are warm it would appear you have good circulation also !

Don't worry too much but seek further advice.

Oh and welcome to the Forum Diakat :)

Thank you for the answer and welcome! Great to hear I'm not the only pulseless one around. Have GP booked for Mon so will get it checked.

I don't have a pulse in my left ankle/foot as i broke fractured and dislocated so got pins and stuff in it i wouldnt worry :)

Ouch Nicola! No pins but I have dislocated my left knee three times! Thanks for the reassurance all.

I had a neurological check recently and had no pulse in one foot and hardly any reflexes at all anywhere but I seem to be alive and kicking.
