Hubby has a hard ball of skin on the heel of his foot, and has said that it is tender at times. Question is, does he just tackle this himself or should he see someone professional? We realised we have no idea! Knew you have to be careful where feet and diabetes are concerned but that's it.
Is Hubby a Diabetic ? If so then see a Podiatrist. Most Diabetics are able to self refer, and it is free.
If not then still see your GP and get referred on the NHS.
Foot problems when you are a Diabetic should never be ignored however trivial they may seem.
So see the GP and get referred if needed or just self refer to the Podiatrist.
Bernstein advise against soaking feet for diabetics, however, one of those "sanders" might be enough. Another option is to rub in some vaseline at night and go to bed with one of those rubber socks you wear to the swimming baths, covering it. An NHS qualified podiatrist is the best.
