I am type 2 for 10 years...I suffer mostly with foot problems IE sensitivities...when my feet are cold , they feel very cold when hot the feel very hot and i get the tingling and intense pricking and pins and needles . I have been told i must wear safety footwear at work but I have found that most is very unforgiving and i usually end up limping and hobbling within hours it feels as if i am walking on cobbles in bare feet , I have tried foam and gel insoles but they only help for a short while ...what can I do the only shoes I find comfortable are trainers..can anyone recommend a suitable footwear ..

Dr Martins do safety boots/shoes and are extremely comfortable.

Thanks for replies it is so difficult...I have 3 pairs all cause discomfort even a few grains of sand in my shoes makes me feel like I have sandpaper insoles...even if a insole creases it feels like corrugated iron ....I not heard of hyper sensitivity before....I am reluctant to spend up to £100 + on shoes only to find I can't wear them for long when I get more comfort out of a pair of £20 trainers....so apart from my feet I am in pretty good health

i used to have the same problem with my old job where i used to walk an average of 7 miles a day the best foot wear i found was hiking boots with steel toe gap rather than go for standered safety boots i used to get them from sports direct

You can ask for a referral to NHS orthotics
They can provide specialist footwear and inserts and advice. I've nothing but praise for the service I've had locally.
